Dear
Residents,
Well
after a somewhat similar winter like that of last year, it
appears that spring has finally arrived!
Overall, December and January were fairly mild, but
February and March decided to get even with us with some
extremely cold temperatures.
But again, as in similar fashion to last year’s
winter, we did not have much snowfall to contend with.
But now that the grass is turning green and the
flowers are growing, the warm weather will be here before
we know it!
It
has now been four years since our administration took
office and thanks to the wonderful people of this Village,
we can look forward to four more years!
This
year’s focus is on improvements!
From roadwork to parks, our goal is to provide
places for both children and adults to enjoy!
We are going to replace playground equipment at
both Shore Road and Feller’s Pond Park.
The work in process which includes infield
improvements at Kienle Field as well as Shore Road’s
soccer and baseball fields.
We
also hope to have at least 6 events in our Summer Concert
Series at the Village Square Park on
either Fridays or Saturdays beginning in mid-June.
With
the cooperation of the Business Improvement District (BID)
and the Mayor’s Beautification Society, we expect more
flowers and plantings than ever before!
Several new decorative planters to be placed in
various locations including 2 on Hoffman Ave.
We also expect to purchase new trash receptacles
and banners.
The
BID has several projects of it’s own which will assist
in continuing to improve many businesses as well as to
help reinvigorate the commercial business area and assist
in bringing new businesses to our Village.
Numerous
new road projects have been completed, and as always, many
more are ongoing. It
is our pleasure to continue to co-sponsor and play host to
numerous concerts, festivals and community group functions
throughout the year.
We encourage all residents to attend and enjoy
these Village events.
My
administration continues to
encourage residents to share their ideas,
suggestions and concerns with us.
Our partnership with the various civic, service and
community organizations have strengthened these last three
years because we all have the same goal of keeping
Lindenhurst as a great place to live, work and enjoy!
Along
with the Board of Trustees, our Administrative staff and
all the employees of the Village, we look forward to
continue to serve the Village to the best of our abilities
for the betterment of Lindenhurst.
Warmest
Regards,
Mayor
Tom Brennan
