Dear
Residents,
Well
although winter is till with us for a few more weeks,
spring does appear to be just around the corner!
With
the cooperation of the Business Improvement District (BID)
and the Mayor’s Beautification Society, the purchased
Holiday Decorations really improved the festive mood
around our Village Park!
The
BID along with the help of the Chamber of Commerce has
focused specifically on filling the vacant stores.
The Joint Civics Association and the Mayor’s
Beautification Society are continuing to assist the
Village by getting murals and paintings placed in the
currently empty storefronts as part of the Window on
Wellwood II Project.
We
all know that our economy is suffering right now.
Therefore, we as your Village Government are doing
our part to ensure that we continue to provide the quality
services that you have come to expect from us while
maintaining fiscal responsibility!
As
previously mentioned, numerous new road projects have been
completed, including re-design of the Albert Street
Culvert, the creation of the School Street Municipal
Parking Lot Facility, the addition of a Salt Shed at the
DPW Facility, the placement of various Surveillance
Cameras for our security and the repaving of South Strongs
Avenue. As
always, there are many more are ongoing projects.
On
March 1st, we will hold the 16th
Annual Mayor’s Beautification Society Pancake Breakfast
at the Lindenhurst Fire Department Pavilion at 9 am.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children under
12.
In
a few weeks, we will be ushering the Spring Season with
our Annual Little League Parades and our Annual Memorial
Day Parade. We
will keep you posted on the dates and times of those
events.
The
Administration continues to encourage residents to share
their ideas, suggestions and concerns with us.
Our partnership with the various civic, service and
community organizations have strengthened these last four
years because we all have the same goal of keeping
Lindenhurst as a great place to live, work and enjoy!
Along
with the Board of Trustees, our Administrative staff and
all the employees of the Village, we look forward to
continue to serve the Village to the best of our abilities
for the betterment of our Village.
Also,
remember to keep Our Troops in your prayers.
Our brave men and women are serving all over the
world. We must never forget that it is they who provide us
with the freedoms which we enjoy each day.
God Bless them all and God Bless America!
Warmest
Regards,
Mayor
Tom Brennan
