 HOLIDAY PARADE A HUGE SUCCESS

The Village of Lindenhurst in conjunction with the Lindenhurst Historical Society  sponsored the Village Holiday Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 2^nd.  The festivities included the Lindenhurst Fire Department Holiday Parade, roller skating on S. Wellwood Avenue around our Christmas Tree, the Mayor’s Beautification Society’s Annual Christmas Wreath Contest Awards and the lighting of the Village Christmas Tree.  This year the Lindenhurst Historical Society designated the honor of lighting the tree to longtime Village residents and sisters Dorothea Papps and Elsie Warta.  Pictured here are Trustee Michael Lavorata, Deputy Mayor Kevin McCaffrey, Dorothea Papps, Mayor Thomas Brennan, Elsie Warta, Village Clerk-Treasurer Shawn Cullinane, Trustee Jodi Caravella and Trustee Maryann Weckerle.  The Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce and the Lindenhurst Kiwanis Club served hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn during these events.
