LINDENHURST
VILLAGE GOES GREEN THIS AUTUMN
New
Biodegradable Leaf Bags are Part of a Village-Wide Effort to
Help Raise Environmental Awareness
The
Lindenhurst Village DPW trucks made their annual rounds in early
November to distribute packets of leaf bags to residents who
immediately noticed a difference. The bags, seafoam green in
color, were bigger and stronger than in years past. More
importantly the Village utilized ones that are environmentally
sound.
Mayor
Thomas Brennan stated, “The leaf bags are now biodegradable.
Everyone, in every way they can, should make an effort to insure
the sustainability of our planet for future generations and this
is one way that Lindenhurst Village is contributing to that
effort”.
As
a reminder leaves are collected village wide each Wednesday.
Leaf bags should be placed at the curbside no earlier than 7pm
on Tuesday evening and no later than 7am on Wednesday morning
for pick up on Wednesdays.
Please
check the village sanitation calendar for any changes due to
holidays. Calendar
is available online for review at www.villageoflindenhurst.com.
