CELEBRATING THE SEASON
LINDY VILLAGE STYLE
Skating,
Santa, Treats and a Parade help to Usher in the Season
The
Village Downtown came alive with all the sights and sounds of
Christmas this past December 5th as The Incorporated
Village ushered in the season with its Annual Tree Lighting.
Residents
were treated to hot pretzels fresh off the grill, hot cocoa and
cookies as children and adults alike skated around the War
Memorial Median that is home to the Village Christmas Tree. The
day’s festivities included a Wreath Contest, The Annual
Historical Society Meeting hosted at BACCA Headquarters, visits
with Santa, musical entertainment and the Annual Fire Department
Parade.
The
Mayor and Village Board honored the Lindenhurst High School
Girls Volleyball Team with a special Proclamation for achieving
their title of Long Island Champs. The celebration culminated at
dusk with the lighting of the Village tree by longtime
residents, Mr and Mrs Gimbl.
