As we begin to get ready for Spring Lindenhurst Village Trustee Michael Lavorata would like to remind residents about a few village ordinances and regulations.

If you want to conduct a garage sale, you must first obtain a permit from the village.  Call the Village Hall at 957-7500 for more garage sale information.

It is illegal to park commercial vehicles on village roadways overnight in residential areas.  Village Code Enforcement personnel are authorized to issue summonses for this violation.  This includes tow trucks, dump trucks, tractor trailers, large delivery vans, buses, and other commercially registered vehicles.

In preparing your refuse or recycling material for regular pick-up, do not place anything at the curb until after 7:00 PM the night before.  Putting refuse out any earlier does not get it picked up any sooner.

As the warm weather approaches, people are beginning to clean out their cellars and garages.  If you need a special pick-up, call the Department of Public Works at 957-7520 to get a special pick-up date.  Do Not pile your special pick-up items out on the curb until the day before.  Doing so is a violation of the village code and will result in summonses being issued.
