VILLAGE
SUMMER MUSIC SERIES READY TO ROLL
The 8th Annual Summer in the
Village Square music performance series will kick off this coming
Friday, June 9, 2006 with performances by two modern music acts.
Local singer-guitarist Austin Gallagher will open the show
followed by Workshop Recording Group artists Colors In The Air. The Summer Music Program is sponsored by the Village of
Lindenhurst Special Events Committee, Mayor Tom Brennan and
Committee Chair Trustee Jodi Caravella
Colors In The Air, based out of
Buffalo, New York, is a quartet of talented musicians performing
original material and includes bass player and singer Ryan
Cullinane, a 2004 alumnus of Lindenhurst High School.
“I’m excited to bring this band to my hometown”, said
Ryan. “I think
people will like what were doing.”
Colors In The Air is currently on their
‘Kiss Life or Be Dinner’ tour of clubs around the northeast.
The night before their Lindenhurst appearance, they will be
performing in the renowned Bitter End Café in Greenwich Village,
New York City.
The Village Square show starts at 7:30
PM. Admission is
free. “We hope all village residents join us for another exciting
year of performances in the park”, stated Trustee Caravella.
Summer in The Village Square will also
sponsor a performance by the Long Island Shakespeare Festival on
Sunday, July 16th at 4PM.
On Saturday August 19, 2006, 7:30 PM, The Clusters, will be
playing hits of the 1950s. The
Annual Village Local Talent Show will be held in September on a
date to be determined.
